Where to Start?
For Babies
Sometimes we forget that we can be reading with our babies, as well as playing with them. It’s important to remember to sing, play, and read even with newborns and as especially as they grow throughout infanthood.
For Toddlers
Toddlers are learning so much every day! I love to incorporate sensory activities into toddler play because it offers so much in the way of exploring, creating, and learning.
For Preschoolers
I really recommend focusing on books a lot with the preschool age. It’s so fun because they can often sit still for longer books (longer than Brown Bear, Brown Bear by Eric Carle at least :)), and they really learn a lot of new things from books.
For Older Kids
Podcasts are a great screen-free activity that invites learning through stories.
For Art History (for all ages!)
One of my favorite activities with kids of all ages is to incorporate famous artists/art movements into toddlers/preschooler/elementary activities. It’s a great way to introduce art history while keeping the content age-appropriate.
For Crafts Inspired by Picture Books
Making an art project inspired by a picture book makes the picture book that much more memorable and meaningful to children.
For Getting Ready for Kindergarten
Getting ready for kindergarten can be stressful for families. It doesn’t have to be! A little fun each day is all you need to help make sure your child is ready to thrive in school (or at home in school :)).
